No Indigo Flight To Singapore From Delhi And Mumbai
There are many factors that help keep an Indigo flight a low cost one and it is the low cost scenario that has helped the airline make profits in a market that has not only seen other airlines accumulate considerable losses but has even seen operations such as Kingfisher Airlines go down under the immense pressure. The recent development which saw the airline announcing an end to its flights to Singapore from Mumbai and Delhi are a result of a number of factors including sustained competition from Full Service Carriers.
A thorough study of the route reveals that when passengers are flying on these medium haul flights they expect meals, an obvious and fair demand owing to the duration of the flight which lasts five and a half hours. However, providing free meals couldn’t have been possible on Indigo flights with the low prices that the airline was charging for its tickets. These and many other factors have forced the airline to announce that no Indigo flight to Singapore would be taking off from Delhi and Mumbai on a daily basis from March 2013.
